I was so happy to get home after being gone for 2 weeks. I did have a nice time with our missionary friends but there is nothing like coming home. Well as soon as we stepped out of the truck life started moving fast. We started to hear of the things that had happen while we were gone. I found out a 2 1/2 week old baby died of a Mama that goes to our church. She was born right before we left and everyone was so happy. I remember looking at her tiny little face as I held her at about 1 day old. Such a precious little life. Now we are trying to minister to the Mama as she deals with her grieve of lossing her baby.
I also found out that one of our older ladies in the Church, Mama Kristia, a very dedicated Christain, has had trouble with one of her sons. Her son tried to kill his brother. This is the second time he has tried to kill someone. So now Mama Krista is dealing with all this. She has such a beautiful heart for the Lord and has been praying for her childrens salvation for a long time now.
On a brighter note, I had around 20 young girls at my reading class on Wendesday. We had so much fun as we played the name game and then Memory. I love these young girls and treasure the time I get with them each week. Girls in this community need so much hope and I want to show them the hope of eternal life and a life lived for Jesus. I believe if they can read and then able to read and understand the Bible it will help them in life as they go through difficult times. Some of them will be married by the time they are 12 or 13 and then bearing childern for years to come. These girls need Jesus and the hope He gives and the strength He gives us day to day.
Life here is full of different emotions, but one thing is for sure, we serve an Awesome God.

I wish there was something we could do for Margaret. Please tell her that I am praying for her.
I'm so glad I got to visit you because it gave me such a mental image of what you are talking about. It also made me realize how you can't help but just love those people. Ecpecially the kids.
I love you!
Please tell Margaret and Mama Kristia I am praying for them.
There are never words to say when a baby dies for no apparent reason. Just holding their hand and being there to cry with them is good medicine. It opens many doors later.
Since September, among the pregnant teens who have had babies in Graham County we've had 1 SIDS death, 2 still borns and 1 just smothered to death last week.
La, I'm so very proud of you and the ministry of compassion you are living out amidst these women and girls.
I love you.
Laura,
Your faith and heart are a testimony to me ever day.
Love,
Dad
Laura, What a tremendous ministry of Christ's unfailing love you are pouring into these women and girls. Many of us spend our days, weeks and years wondering and hoping that we are somehow reaching others but with your life there is no question. May God continue to bless you with divine appointments, words and trusting relationships.
Love ya,
alison
