Toilet plunger and dust pan?

A toilet plunger and dust pan may have more uses than you know. Around 5:30 a.m Laura was feeding Savannah and when she had finished she put her back into her bed. As Laura was getting back into our bed she noticed an unfamiliar shadow on our mosquito net. She turned the flashlight on to see a bat hanging INSIDE our net! I was still half a sleep and said we will get it out when we wake up. About 5 minutes later I roll over and my wife is missing. I called out her name and she was on the couch and refused to sleep with the bat inside. I laid back down and the thought begin to cross my mind, where was this thing going to go as the daylight came, then I heard a screech and flipped the flashlight on and the bat was gone. The bat had moved closer to me so I decided to remove the bat from the net. I called my sweet helper in to assist me and for the next 45 minutes our life was filled with excitement. If any of you remember the spider story from Loiyangalani, well it happened again. At one point the bat was on the floor and came running toward me, Laura was right behind me as we were squeezes in beside the bed. I jumped up as this monster approached me, knocked Laura out of the way and ran. Laura was not harmed but I may never live this down. Finally after pushing things around under the bed I caught him under a toilet plunger and slid the dustpan underneath and carried him out. So you see toilet plungers and dustpans can be of more assistance than you think. For all of you animal lovers the bat was not harmed to much that is in all the chaos.

What a visual bro. I can see Laura on the sofa and you sleeping with that bat in there. That story is absolutely hilarious. It does remind us of the spider story. Did Laura run out of her Man in a Can? Oh that stuff probably doesn't work on bats. By hearing your reaction - I'm convinced that it does not. Stay strong in all of your adversity brother, a wife needs a strong man to protect her from all of the dangers in the bush (whatever!!) CYA; Pat and Kat

Oh my! How I needed this laugh!

Here I am, always tellling folks I don't worry about you all because Travis is such a great defender/protector. I guess I should change that up a little bit. I don't worry because Laura is 'Shera of the Sarengeti'!

Sounds like Superman is turning into Batman!

Reminds me of Kayla and myself trying to remove an enormous iguana (2 inch common lizard) from our house. If you scream loud enough and often enough it will stun them into a stupor you know?! Try that next time... Keep up the great work Travis!! :) Lynn

That's funny! I never expected to hear you telling that story!
You can also stand at the top of the stairs and scream to catch an iguana. -Kayla Bailey

Hey Travis,
I can just hear you "screaming like a girl again" (Spider re-run)
The bat should go on the couch!

LOL That is downright hilarious! Haha. I laughed hardest when you said that you pushed Laura out of the way so you could get to safety! And I agree with Nana I could hear you screamin' like a little girl as well! I'm glad no one was hurt by the big giant monster attacking everyone. Oh and I'm glad no one was hurt by the bat as well.
